East
Fork Cellars produces limited quantities of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay from their vineyards; and makes bordeaux-style blends from grapes sourced primarily from Columbia Valley and Columbia Gorge AVAs. The following is a partial list of our wines which are only available through our tasting room:
|
Name:
Howling Trout Chardonnay
Year:
NV Chehalem Mountains
Price:
$16.
Our
Howling Trout Chardonnay is lightly oaked but still retains a balanced crisp acidity. It pairs very well with strongly flavored seafood, poultry and vegetarian entrees.
|
Name:
Merlot
Year:
2008 Columbia Valley
Price:
$22.
Our popular Merlot has notes of cherry, black currant and chocolate. It makes a wonderful compliment to cedar-planked salmon, or a hearty pasta dish with red sauce.
|
Name:
Riverstone Red
Year:
NV Columbia Valley
Price:
$28.
This beautiful
blend is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petite
Verdot grapes from the Columbia Valley AVA in Eastern Washington. The
region is well known for producing outstanding warm weather grape
varieties. This wine is balanced and refined, fruit forward, with hints
of tobacco and currant.
|
Name:
Petit Verdot
Year:
2007 Walla Walla
Price:
$24.
Petit Verdot, one of the five classic Bordeaux grape varieties, makes a light, fruit-forward wine which is perfect for blending with the more robust and tannic Cabernets. This 100% Petit Verdot is very yummy on its own, and pairs well with Salmon or port entrees, and hearty salads. It's a smooth, food-friendly wine.
|
Name:
Petite Sirah
Year:
2005 Lake County CA
Price:
$25.
Petite Sirah is made from the Durif grape which is a hybrid developed by germinating flowers of a
Peloursin plant with Syrah pollen. Known as Petite Sirah, it produces small berries
with saturated color and dense fruits. This wine is fragrant, robust, and very jammy.
While Petite Sirah is often a mainstay of red burgundy blends, we found this vintage to be particularly wonderful on
its own. Come by to try this fantastic wine, and enjoy a local favorite.
